Former South African ace pacer Dale Steyn made a heartwarming gesture ahead of the much-awaited ICC World Cup 2023. Dale Steyn provided valuable bowling tips to the Netherlands players during their warm-up game against Australia on Sunday, October 1.

The Netherlands batters struggled to negotiate with Australian pacer Mitchell Starc in the practice game in Thiruvananthapuram on September 30. The Dutch team managed to score 84 runs in 14.2 overs in a rain-curtailed match that ended with no result due to rain.

In a video shared by Cricket Netherlands on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Dale Steyn shared his cricket knowledge with Dutch players, offering valuable bowling tips.

Dale Steyn has an impressive record of 699 wickets across formats for the Proteas. He is currently serving as the bowling coach for the Indian Premier League franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Major League Cricket (MLC) franchise Washington Freedom.

My Heart Wants To Go With South Africa Making The Final – Dala Steyn

Dale Steyn expressed his desire for South Africa to perform well in the upcoming World Cup. He mentioned that his heart wants South Africa to reach the final, highlighting their familiarity with Indian conditions.

“It’s a tough one, you know my heart wants to go with South Africa making the final. I would love them to make the final, their team, a lot of their players play in the IPL, they play in India regularly. They got some guys like in David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen who really started to figure out those conditions and bat well there,” Steyn told Star Sports.

“Then, there is KG Rabada who has been bowling there for ages and a lot of their other senior players have played a lot of cricket there. So I feel like they have got the ability to go on and get to the finals with getting those players,” he added.
