Yuvraj Singh Talks About India's Approach In Marquee Event, Says Youngsters Need To Win World Cup For Senior Players

Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh shared his thoughts about India’s preparation and perspective on the ICC World Cup 2023. The tournament starts on October 5 and will be played till November 19 in India.

Yuvraj Singh in an exclusive interview with Times Now spoke about the team’s approach and shared a few insights about the team ahead of the mega event.

Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian team with Ravichandran Ashwin replacing Axar Patel in the final squad that was announced on September 28. Axar is struggling with a quadricep injury and will require a few more weeks to completely get fit.

Yuvraj said that the Indian team has an experienced captain Rohit Sharma who knows how to utilise his players. He added that by now all the players have been briefed about their role in the side as well.

“I am sure the guys have enough advice and enough people talking about how to approach it. The Indian team is a very experienced side and they know what to do. They have an experienced captain and he knows and he knows how to use his bowlers and his batting side” Yuvraj said.

Youngsters Need To Put Body On The Line: Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj made a very crucial point that the youngsters need to work hard and win the World Cup for senior players like Rohit and Virat Kohli. He said the players need to be hungry and win the title for the senior players.

“The point is that the guys need to be hungry to do it for the senior players. Personally, I had a personal goal. They have to put their body on line. Have to give it their all because these moments are not going to comeback in your life. Its a very special moment, You are playing in India” Yuvraj said to Times Now.

India begin their campaign against Australia on October 8 in Chennai. Ahead of that game, they play two warm-up games against England (September 30) and Netherlands (October 3).
