After 29 days of non-stop riveting games of cricket, the World saw a new T20 World Cup champion. Kane Williamson’s sensational 85-run knock off 48 balls gave New Zealand the best chance of winning the game. However, despite scoring a par score of 172 runs in the first innings, the Blackcaps failed to defend that as most of their bowlers had a bad day at the office. David Warner (53 off 38) and Mitchell Marsh (77 off 50) played exceptional knocks under pressure to help Australia chase down the score in 18.5 overs.
