In their previous match, Australia defeated Bangladesh by 8 wickets. Bowling first, Australia restricted Bangladesh to 73 all-out. Bangladesh suffered a miserable batting collapse as 7 of their batsmen lost wickets for single-digit scores.

Shamim Hossain scored most 19 runs. Adam Zampa scalped a spectacular 5-wicket haul. Later, David Warner hit 18 while Aaron Finch scored 40 runs. Australia easily won the match by 8 wickets after chasing the target in 6.2 overs.

West Indies lost to Sri Lanka in their last match. Batting first, Sri Lanka piled up a massive total of 189-3 in the match. Pathum Nissanka scored 41 runs while Charith Asalanka hit 68. Dasun Shanaka also hit a quickfire 25.

Later, West Indies openers got out cheaply. Nicholas Pooran played a beautiful knock of 46 runs. Shimron Hetmyer also slammed a marvellous 81-run knock while being unbeaten. However, they could not help West Indies to win the match. Reaching 169-8 in 20 overs, West Indies lost the match by 20 runs.
