David Warner Was Really Harshly Dealt With There And It May Have Knocked Some Confidence Out Of Him – Brett Lee

Former Australian speedster Brett Lee feels that the harsh treatment by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 would have knocked some confidence out of the star opening batsman David Warner.
David Warner had a horrible run in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). As a result, he was removed from captaincy and dropped from the team in the middle of the season, and in the UAE leg of IPL 2021, he was given a couple of chances, but the ordinary performance led to his exit from the team.
Meanwhile, legendary Aussie pacer Brett Lee believes that Australia needs to change some tactics if they want to become successful in the T20 World Cups. Lee also named David Warner as the key player of the side and opined that he is saving runs for the big stage.
“We have not had a lot of success in this format – it is time we changed it and we do have a side that can take it all the way. It obviously won’t be easy, especially when you look at how strong teams like England, India and New Zealand are,” Lee wrote in a column for the ICC.
“But this Australian side is loaded with talent and for me, the key is David Warner. I would like to say he is saving the runs for the games that count after his IPL form!
“He was really harshly dealt with there and it may have knocked some confidence out of him but he thrives on the big stage. Everything should be rosy for him here, class is permanent,” he maintained.
Pat Cummins Is The David Beckham Of The Team, Whatever He Touches Turns To Gold – Brett Lee
Australia’s pace attack in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 is considered one of the best in the tournament. Australia has got the deadly trio of Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc.
Meanwhile, Brett Lee lauded speedster Pat Cummins and labelled him a “superstar” of the team. He was also expecting Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood to deliver a good performance for Australia in the upcoming World Cup. The 44-year-old stated:
“I will also put a lot of weight behind Mitchell Starc. There has been some debate in the last year about Starc being past his best but he would be in my team every single time, Josh Hazlewood has had a good IPL and Pat Cummins is a superstar. He is the David Beckham of the team, whatever he touches turns to gold!.”
Australia and South Africa are clubbed in Group 1 of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, which is also referred to as ‘Group of death’, and they will go head to head on 23 October 2021 in Abu Dhabi.
