T20 World Cup 2021: Javed Miandad's Message To Pakistan Ahead Of Key Clash Against India

Former Pakistan cricketer Javed Miandad suggested the Pakistan team to focus on being consistent when they meet India in the upcoming T20 World Cup. The arch-rivals will meet on October 24 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan’s World Cup record against India is one to be ashamed about. They have failed to get the better of their neighbors in every single match they have faced. The two sides met in the 2016 T20 World Cup where India defeated Pakistan by six wickets.

While many of them consider India to be the firm favorites, there are some who believe the Men in Green can spark a surprise. If they are to do so, their team combination needs to be spot on and each individual needs to carry his own weight, as per Miandad.

“It isn’t necessary that players who generally perform well will also do so during a match,” Miandad was quoted as saying to Geo News.

The two neighbors are grouped alongside Afghanistan and New Zealand. They will be joined by two other teams who finish in the top two of the qualifiers, which begin on October 17 in Oman.

Pakistan is scheduled to play a couple of warmup matches against the West Indies and England on October 18 and 20 respectively. As for India, they meet Australia and England and the matches will be Live on the Star Sports network.
