The final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 will have Australia take on New Zealand at Dubai International Cricket Team on Sunday. The two teams are coming off impressive wins in their respective semi-final games. Australia played the second semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 against Pakistan on Thursday.
The likes of Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood didn’t have a great day with the ball. The duo conceded 87 runs in 8 overs combined for two wickets and Pakistan notched a competitive 176-run total in the first innings.
Australia, in reply, kept losing wickets at regular intervals, however, David Warner (49 off 30) kept their hopes alive with a handy knock in the first half of the innings. Warner’s wicket in the 11th overturned the game completely in favour of Pakistan. After 12.2 overs, Australia had lost half of their side for 96 runs.
However, what followed was a match-winning 81-run partnership between Mathew Wade and Marcus Stoinis, which snatched victory from Pakistan. The duo scored runs at a great pace and kept Australia in the game during the latter half of the game. Mathew Wade scored three sixes in the penultimate over to finish the game with an over to spare. Wade remained unbeaten on 40 off 17 balls, while Stoinis played an unbeaten knock of 40 off 31 deliveries.
Facing them are New Zealand, who too showed great heart and beat England in the semi-final match. New Zealand bowled first and restricted England to 166 runs in the first innings. Tim Southee was the pick of the bowlers. He bowled great lengths and conceded only 24 runs in his four overs and also picked the wicket of David Malan. New Zealand lost the first two wickets for just 13 runs in pursuit of the total.
However, a sensational knock from Daryl Mitchell (72 off 47) and valuable contributions from Devon Conway (46 off 38 balls) and James Neesham (27 off 11) helped the team chase down the score in just 19 overs.

Dubai International Cricket Stadium will play host to the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 between New Zealand and Australia.
There will be movement early on for the seamers and thus both teams should look to bowl first upon winning the toss. There is not a lot of spin but if the spinners bowl at good areas, it will be tough for batsmen to play big hits, especially because of big boundaries. Having said that, it is a good batting surface and anything above 170 would be a par score here.
Australia played their last game here against Pakistan. Pakistan batted first and put on a 176-run total. Australia batted second and went on to chase down the score with an over left in the game.
