T20 World Cup 2021: Revealed - Why India Are Wearing Black Armbands vs Namibia

In the last match of the Super 12 stage of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 against Gerhard-led Namibia National Cricket Team at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, all the Indian players were seen wearing black armbands.
The Indian players were wearing the black armband to honour and pay their tributes to the legendary cricket coach Tarak Sinha who recently passed away aged 71 on Saturday after a brave battle with lung cancer.

Tarak Sinha the Dronacharya awardee legendary cricket coach had groomed several players across generations. He had coached players like Surinder Khanna, Manoj Prabhakar, Ajay Sharma, Atul Wassan, Ashish Nehra, Sanjeev Sharma, Aakash Chopra, Shikhar Dhawan, Anjum Chopra and current Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant who was part of India’s playing XI in the Namibia clash.

Virat Kohli Hints At Rohit Sharma Becoming Next India T20I Skipper

Virat Kohli who is playing his last T20 International game as a captain speaking after the toss gave a hint that Rohit Sharma will be taking over the captaincy responsibility after he steps down from his role.
Also after the T20 World Cup 2021 the Kohli-Shastri era will come to an end, and legendary Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the new Head Coach of the Indian cricket team.
“I’ve been grateful for the opportunity. It’s time for the next lot to take the team forward. Rohit has been looking on anyway, and Indian cricket is in good hands,” said Virat Kohli.
