Australia put on a sensational batting performance to chase down a 172-run total against New Zealand and thereby lift the ICC T20 World Cup title for the first time in the history of T20 cricket. Skipper Kane Williamson’s heart-warming knock went in vain as Australian batsmen tore apart New Zealand’s bowling in the second innings.

2. Jos Buttler
The intent that Jos Buttler showed in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 was unparalleled. Buttler set his intentions clear right from the onset of the tournament. He began the tournament with an unbeaten 24-run knock against West Indies, followed by a match-winning 71 off 32 against Australia.
England’s fourth match against Bangladesh saw Jos Buttler score a special ton off just 67 deliveries. Unfortunately, he couldn’t produce a match-winning knock in the semi-final against New Zealand and England went on to lose the game.
Buttler finished the T20 world cup 2021 as the third-highest run-scorer, having managed 269 runs in 6 matches at an average of close to 90.

He scored 94 runs in just 60 balls, a knock which was laced with 5 fours and 6 sixes. His knock propelled the team to a 189-run total in the first innings. South Africa won that game by 10 runs. Overall, Rassie van der Dussen scored 177 runs in 5 matches in the tournament at an average of close to 60.
4. Charith Asalanka
There is no denying the fact that Charith Asalanka is one of the finds for the Sri Lankan Cricket in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. He is a gem who is going to shine for Sri Lanka in the years to come.
With an array of shots under his armoury, Asalanka is a big asset for any team in T20 cricket. He brought a sense of calm in the Sri Lankan dressing room even after early wickets in the tournament. Asalanka scored runs heavily for the side and consistently. In 6 matches, he managed to score 231 runs at an average of 46.20.
5. Najibullah Zadran
It won’t be wrong to say that Najibullah Zadran is one of the better middle-order batsmen in world cricket right now. He can play the big shots and provides solidity in Afghanistan’s batting unit.
Najibullah played two sensational knocks in the tournament. He began their tournament with a 59-run knock off 34 balls against Scotland and finished the tournament with a 73 off 48 against New Zealand. Overall, he managed to score 172 runs in 5 matches at an average of 34.40.
6. David Wiese
David Wiese played a significant role with both bat and ball in helping Namibia qualify in the Super 12 stage. After losing the first game against Sri Lanka, Namibia went on to win their next two games in the first round against Netherlands and Ireland.
The last game was a potential knockout for both sides. David Wiese picked 2 for 22 in that game and then played an unbeaten 28-run knock off 14 balls to help the side reach the next round. He finished as the sixth-highest run-scorer in the tournament with 227 runs in 6 matches at an average of 45.40. Besides, he picked 6 wickets in 8 matches.
7. Shakib Al Hasan
Shakib Al Hasan finds a place at number seven in the list. Shakib returned with forgettable numbers in the Super 12 stage but was outstanding during the first round both with the bat and ball.
He began the tournament with all-round performance against Oman. The southpaw scored 42 off 29 with the bat and picked 3 wickets for 28 in 4 overs. Despite missing the last two games due to injury, Shakib finished the tournament as the third-highest wicket-taker. He picked 11 wickets in 6 matches at an average of 11.18.
8. Wanindu Hasaranga
Much like Asalanka, Sri Lanka’s all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga was equally impressive in the tournament. He kept the batsmen guessing with his guile and turn, dishing out outstanding performance throughout the tournament.
In his very first ICC event, Hasaranga claimed a hat-trick in the match against South Africa. Wanindu Hasaranga is currently the highest wicket-taker in the tournament, having managed to pick 16 wickets in 8 matches at an average of 9.75.
9. Adam Zampa
Adam Zampa is easily one of the most underrated bowlers in world cricket right now. He has been nothing short of outstanding in the tournament. The Australian leg-spinner has managed to create pressure from one end in the middle-overs and picked wickets consistently.
There’s not a single bad outing for Zampa in the tournament. Zampa bowled another outstanding spell of four overs in the final against New Zealand. He gave away 26 runs in his four overs and picked the important wicket of Martin Guptill. He is currently the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament, having managed 12 wickets in 6 games at an average of 10.92.
10. Anrich Nortje
For South Africa, Anrich Nortje was the standout bowler in ICC T20 World Cup 2021. He was one of the best bowlers in the tournament for the kind of impact he made with the ball.
South African fast bowler consistently hits 140 clicks and bowled at great areas. He bowled in powerplay, middle-overs and death overs and still conceded runs at less than 6 runs an over. In 5 matches, he managed to pick 9 wickets at an average of 11.56.
11. Trent Boult
New Zealand fast bowler, Trent Boult completes our team of ICC T20 World Cup 2021. There is no denying that Trent Boult has lived up to all expectations. He picked wickets consistently for his team and deny the opposition to build partnerships.
Boult has been brilliant in both powerplays as well as death overs. Overall, he has 11 wickets in 6 matches at an average of 14.09. The New Zealand fast bowler exhibited sensational performance in the final against Australia.
He took the vital wickets of Aaron Finch and David Warner, giving away only 18 runs in his four overs. However, he found little support from the other bowlers.
