Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has said that Virat Kohli will be seen as an all-rounder for India in ICC T20 World Cup 2021. His words arrive after the Indian skipper bowled a couple of overs in the warm-up match against Australia.

During the India vs Australia warm-up game, Virat Kohli bowled 2 overs. Unfortunately, he conceded 12 runs in his spell. It was a little surprise for the fans to see Kohli delivering the ball, as he has refrained from bowling for a lot of time. Hence, Kohli might be an occasional bowler for India during the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.

Virat Kohli Is India’s 6th Bowling Option: Aakash Chopra

While speaking about India vs Australia warm-up game on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra talked about a few takeaways from the match. He mentioned that Kohli will be seen in the form of an all-rounder in the tournament and will be India’s 6th bowling option.

“Kohli will be seen in the form of an all-rounder. He is our 6th bowling option. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has bowled well. That means he is still in the scheme of things for the game against Pakistan.

“We finally saw Varun Chakravarthy bowling, which is a fantastic thing but he was not given the full overs. He was bowled in the end and he conceded 23 runs in two overs, I understood why you were hiding him,” Aakash Chopra said.

Aakash Chopra was also happy for Suryaumar Yadav, Rohit Sharma, and Hardik Pandya, who played good knocks against Australia and looked in good forms.

“Suryakumar Yadav has scored runs. That is a big takeaway because you sent him up the order and the sort of unconventional shots he plays, they can only be played when you are in form.

“So he has called the form towards him. Rohit Sharma made runs. Everyone feels happy seeing him in form. Hardik Pandya also hit a six to win the match, which also gladdened my heart,” Aakash Chopra further said.

India defeated Australia by 9 wickets in the warm-up match. Batting first, Australia posted 152-5 on the scoreboard. Steve Smith hit a half-century (57). Glenn Maxwell (37) and Marcus Stonis (41) also played notable knocks for the team. Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin picked 2 wickets.
