VVS Laxman Picks His India's Playing XI For The Opening Game Against Pakistan In ICC T20 World Cup 2021

Ahead of India’s opening game against Pakistan in ICC T20 World Cup 2021, former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman picked India’s playing XI. VVS Laxman picked 2 seamers and 2 spinners in the team with 7 batters. India vs Pakistan match will be played on October 24 at Dubai International Stadium.
Both India and Pakistan are part of group 2 in T20 World Cup 2021. New Zealand and Afghanistan are other teams in group 2. Two more teams will also join the group after the 1st round. India recently outplayed England and Australia in warm-up matches. Pakistan defeated West Indies but lost to South Africa in warm-up games.

While speaking to Star Sports, VVS Laxman picked his playing XI for India for the opening game against Pakistan. In Laxman’s team, Mohammed Shami did not find a place as he picked 2 seamers and 2 spinners. Ishan Kishan also did not make a cut.
“They are spoilt for choices. But I will go with Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul to open. No. 3 will be Virat Kohli, No. 4 will be Suryakumar Yadav, No. 5 Rishabh Pant, No. 6 Hardik Pandya, No. 7 will be Ravindra Jadeja, No. 8 will be Bhuvneshwar Kumar, No. 9 will be Bumrah. No. 10 and No. 11 will be two spinners, Varun Chakaravarthy and Rahul Chahar. It’s a long tail but I will back the top seven to get the bulk of the runs”, VVS Laxman said.
In group 1 of T20 World Cup 2021, Australia, England, South Africa, and West Indies will lock horns against each other. 2 more teams will join group 1 later. The top two teams from both the groups after the super-12 stage will qualify for the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, India showed brilliant performance in the warm-up matches against England and Australia. India defeated England by 7 wickets in their first warm-up match. England posted 189-5 in 20 overs. India chased down the target in 19 overs, with KL Rahul hitting 51 and Ishan Kishan hitting 70.
