The Australian players were seen giving a guard of honor to West Indian cricketers, Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo, following the completion of their Super 12 match in the ongoing T20 World Cup.

Bravo had announced his retirement from international cricket midway through the tournament. As for Gayle, although he hasn’t made it official yet, it is assumed that the legendary batsman will also be hanging up his boots.

They both received standing ovations from the crowd after they were dismissed, with Gayle soaking in the applause indicating that it might well be his last match in the maroon jersey. The match was played in great spirits as well, despite a lot at stake for the Aussies.

Following the completion of the game that the Australian team won, Aaron Finch and co. marched out to the middle before giving a guard of honor to the retiring West Indian duo. It was a wonderful moment, showing the mutual respect that everybody on the ground shared.

As for the match, the Windies set a target of 158 on the board for Australia, courtesy of a late counter-attack from the skipper, Kieron Pollard. Josh Hazlewood had a great day out in the field with the ball, taking four wickets while being moderately expensive.

The target was chased down quite comfortably by the Aussies. David Warner led the way with an 89-run knock, finding form just at the right time. He was well accompanied by Mitchell Marsh, who also helped himself to a quickfire fifty. Eventually, Australia won the game by 8 wickets and they now await the result of England vs South Africa.
