T20 World Cup 2021: Watch – Huge Mixup With Mahmudullah Results In Afif Hossain Getting Run Out

Bangladesh batsman Afif Hossain was involved in a huge mixup with skipper Mahmudullah which resulted in the former getting run out in the 20th match of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 against Eoin Morgan-led England National Cricket Team at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, October 27.

This is the first time England and Bangladesh are facing each other in the T20 Internationals. Eoin Morgan-led side was having a lot of momentum on their side heading into the game as they thrashed West Indies in their last game. On the other hand, Bangladesh was low on confidence having faced a defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, batsman Afif Hossain lost his wicket in the 4th ball of the 13th over when Liam Livingstone was bowling. Mahmudullah played a shot on the leg side and speedster Tymal Mills did a midfield at the short fine leg which resulted in batters wanting the second run.

However, Mills recovered in the time and he was able to throw the ball at wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler and he had plenty of time to take down the bails. Afif Hossain only managed to contribute 5 runs off 6 balls for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Off To A Very Poor Start

Mahmudullah-led Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first. However, the start was not pretty good for the team as openers Liton Das and Mohammad Naim were sent back to the pavilion by spinner Moeen Ali in the third over itself.

Star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan who is having a great run in the World Cup was also unable to survive for a long time and he was dismissed by Chris Woakes in the 6th over.

Mushfiqur Rahim looked decent out in middle but he was dismissed by Liam Livingstone in the 11th over and he managed to score 29 runs. Skipper Mahmudullah was also unable to help his team and was dismissed in the 15th over. At the time of writing Bangladesh were struggling at 86/6.
