The England cricket team won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 after beating Pakistan in the final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on November 13. The Jos Buttler-led team became the second team after the West Indies to win two T20 World Cup titles.
The legendary Australian World Cup-winning bowler, Brett Lee has picked his best XI from the recently concluded World Cup. The former Australian pacer has named a squad that includes four Indians, two Pakistanis, one New Zealander, and four English cricketers; surprisingly, no Australian player was included.
Four England Players Included In Brett Lee’s Best XI
The Australian veteran has named England’s Alex Hales and Jos Buttler as openers for his team. Both of these players had a few good innings, and they defeated India one-sidedly in the semi-finals by sharing a 170-run partnership. The English skipper scored 225 runs and was the leading scorer for his team, while his opening partner scored 212 runs.
Sam Curran, who was awarded Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament for taking 13 wickets in six innings, was also named to Brett Lee’s best XI. The English spin ace Adil Rashid only took four wickets in the tournament, but he was very impressive in his spells, especially in the semi-final and final, and he was also included in Lee’s XI.

India’s World Cup campaign ended in a humiliating ten-wicket loss in the second semi-final clash, but there were a few positives for the team, including batter Virat Kohli, who scored 296 runs from just six innings with the help of four half-centuries, and Surykumar Yadav, who scored 239 runs at an unbelievable strike rate of 189.68, the best in the tournament.
Young pace bowler Arshdeep Singh and star all-rounder Hardik Pandya are part of Lee’s best XI of the tournament. Arshdeep took ten wickets, while Hardik scored 128 runs and eight wickets.
Shaheen Afridi, all-rounder Shadab Khan, and Glenn Phillips are also part of Lee’s best XI. Both players took 11 wickets each to take Pakistan to the final. The New Zealand batsman scored 201 runs in just five innings, including a 104-run knock against Sri Lanka.
