Alzarri Joseph on Fire
The only way West Indies could have won the match by taking wickets. In the first 2 overs, the Men in Maroon gave away 29 runs and it looked as if Zimbabwe would run away with the match quite comfortably. Alzarri in his first over got rid of dangerous Chakabva and applied brakes on the scoring. The right-arm speedster provided breakthroughs at the crucial junctions of the match and ended up with match-winning figures of 4-14.
Problems aplenty for Zimbabwe
The team is completely dependent on Sikandar Raza which is not a good sign at all. The likes of Sean Williams should take responsibility for guiding the batters in the middle. Chasing 154 runs requires a couple of 40 runs partnerships as scoring less than 8 runs per over is not a tough task in the Modern Era.
Due to this loss, Zimbabwe’s next match against Scotland is a virtual knock-out match, All the teams of Group B are tied on 2 points and we can expect a lot of surprises. Zimbabwe would be hoping that their skipper Craig Ervine is back as he is someone who can change the facets of the match.
