ICC T20 World Cup 2022: Wasim Akram Predicts Australia, India and Pakistan To Play T20 World Cup Semi-Finals

The hype for ICC T20 World Cup has begun. It looks like this year’s T20 World Cup would be one of the biggest. The pitches in Australia would be quite competitive as there would be even contested between bat & ball. This is the first time where a T20 World Cup is hosted in Australia so we could be in for a lot of surprises and upsets.
The defending Champions Australia have a strenuous task on their hands. No team has won back-to-back titles in the history of the T20 World Cup nor has any team won the championship on their home ground. It would be interesting to see how Australia comes back after losing T20I Series against England.
Wasim Akram on Likely Semi-Finalists
Wasim Akram was having an interaction with the media and was asked about the likely Semi-Finalists for the T20 World Cup 2022.
“For the semifinals, what I would like to see is Australia, India and Pakistan. But South Africa could be a dark horse,” said Akram.
Unpredictable Pakistan
Pakistan Cricket Team has reached the final of the Tri-Series. But at the same time, there hasn’t been any major contribution from the middle-order batters. The likes of Babar Azam & Mohammad Rizwan are as usual making sure that they bat as deep as possible. It looks like the openers are the whole and soul of the team.
The bowling line-up of Pakistan has done quite a decent job. The youngster Naseem Shah has impressed the World Cricket with immaculate line & length. The Men in Green has a bad habit of throwing away starts. This has been going on for quite a time. In a short tournament, Pakistan needs to start well else they would get knocked out quite early.
