India takes on the Netherlands in match 23 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Sydney on October 23. India defeated Pakistan in their first game while the Netherlands lost to Bangladesh. The Dutch made their way through to the Super 12s winning two out of their three qualifiers.

The super 12 round began on October 22 with the first match between Australia and New Zealand- the finalists of last year’s T20 World Cup. The Kiwis beat the Aussies in that game by 89 runs. The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 final will be played on November 13.

For India, this is a game where they can experiment with their side a little bit. Rishabh Pant can feature in this game in place of either KL Rahul or Dinesh Karthik. If he plays in place of Rahul, he can open the batting with skipper Rohit Sharma. It will be interesting to see if the management thinks of tinkering with the bowling attack. In this article, we take look at India’s playing XI for the game against the Netherlands.

Rahul missed his opportunity against Pakistan just 4 off 8 balls. If he plays against the Dutch, he has to score some runs, or else Pant is another option who can open the batting.

Rohit was also dismissed for a low score against Pakistan. He also has to score key runs against the Netherlands. His leadership skills will be tested in the tournament against the big teams.

Virat Kohli is fresh off an unbeaten 82 against Pakistan and would like to keep his form going. He will try and score as much as he can. Kohli’s form will be key to India winning the T2-0 World Cup title.

SKY was another Indian top-order batter who missed out against Pakistan. Against a weak Dutch bowling attack, he would like to score some big runs.

Hardik Pandya

Pandya is fresh off a match-winning 40 against Pakistan. He also took three wickets. He would ideally like a repeat of his performance.

As said earlier, this match is an ideal opportunity for the management to put Pant ahead of Karthik in the batting order. Karthik scored just one in the game against Pakistan when he was expected to finish the match for India.

Ravichandran Ashwin

Ashwin showed his clever cricketing brain in the game against Pakistan. With the ball, he had a good game too as he just went for 23 off his three overs.

Axar bowled just one over in the game against Pakistan. Chahal should be picked over the left-arm spinner given that he is an experienced and seasoned spinner in the Indian team.

Bhuvi picked up 1 for 22 in the game against Pakistan. After controlling the runs in his opening spell he picked up a wicket in the death overs.

Shami bowled a brilliant last over against Australia to win the game for India. He picked up three wickets. After such a performance, he should play every match in this T20 World Cup for India. He picked up 1 for 25 against Pakistan.

The left-arm seamer concludes India’s likely playing XI for the game against Pakistan. He picked u[p 3 for 32 in his very first World Cup game for India. The bowling lineup will have enough options with five regular bowlers and Hardik as the sixth bowling option.
