The main part of the T20 World Cup 2022 got off on Saturday with hosts Australia playing New Zealand at Sydney Cricket Ground. The four teams that will advance to the semi-final round have begun to be predicted by ex-cricketers, and Robin Uthappa‘s forecast is likely to disappoint Indian fans.

Previously, on October 16, the T20 World Cup began with the first round, in which teams competed to advance to the Super 12 stage. The Super 12 round of the competition saw the advancement of Sri Lanka, Netherlands, Zimbabwe, and Ireland.

Uthappa chose England, Australia, Pakistan, and South Africa as his four semifinalists when speaking on ESPNCricinfo.

“I want to start off with a disclaimer. I do not think Indian fans would be too happy. But my semi-finalists would be Australia, England, Pakistan and South Africa,” said Uthappa.

India was chosen by a number of people as one of their semi-finalists, including Anil Kumble, Tom Moody, Faf du Plessis, Sam Billings, and Darren Ganga.

On October 23, Team India’s T20 World Cup campaign will get underway when they face Pakistan at Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Prior to this, the team captained by Rohit Sharma defeated the reigning champions, Australia, by six runs in a warm-up game. Due to weather, their next warm-up match versus New Zealand was called off. The team played two exhibition games against Western Australia XI after arriving in Australia two weeks prior.
