Suryakumar Yadav, who is currently at the No.2 position in the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings, has scored 1045 T20I runs for the Men In Blue at a good average of 38.70 and an exceptional strike rate of 176.81.

In an interview with Cricbuzz, Sachin Tendulkar, who is the all-time highest run-scorer in international cricket, talked about Suryakumar and said that he is pleased to see the batter’s growth. He added that Suryakumar has cemented his place in the Indian team and he is “ready to show something special.”

“Very good! I am very pleased to see his growth. He was always a dangerous player. Earlier, he did not have an assured place in the team. Now he doesn’t have to worry about that. He is one of the leading batsmen in the world in this format. I feel he is ready to show something special,” the legendary India National Cricket Team batter said.

If we don’t have a left-handed batter right now, it is not the end of the world – Sachin Tendulkar

In the same Cricbuzz interview, Tendulkar was asked about his views on India not having a proper left-handed batter in the batting unit, if Rishabh Pant doesn’t play in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.

Sachin Tendulkar said that having a left-handed batter is helpful for the side, but the absence of a left-handed batter is not the end of the world. He added that Team India have got a high-quality batting unit consisting of right-handed batters and the combination is working perfectly for the team. He said:

“Well, having a left-hander surely does help but it can’t be an end in itself. If we don’t have a left-handed batter right now, it is not the end of the world. We have got very good high-quality right-handed batsmen. The combination is working for us. That’s the reason I said we have the strongest batting lineup.”

India National Cricket Team recently defeated Australia National Cricket Team by 6 runs in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 warm-up game and next they will lock horns with Kane Williamson-led New Zealand National Cricket Team in the warm-up game on October 19.

In their tournament opener, India National Cricket Team will take on Pakistan National Cricket Team on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
