Australian opener David Warner picked his “Greatest Of All Time” heading into the ICC World Cup 2023. The southpaw is currently in India for a three-match ODI series against India ahead of the World Cup.

David Warner scored 52 off 53 balls in the first ODI before he was dismissed. The senior batter will want to keep his form for his team heading into the World Cup.

In a recent interaction with Jio Cinema, Warner chose his “Greatest Of All Time” (GOAT) cricketer. He did not intend to go with the regular choices like Sachin Tendulkar, Don Bradan, or AB De Villiers. Instead, he chose former South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis as his GOAT cricketer.

Kallis has the best numbers for South Africa and the best among the all-rounders to have ever played the game. In 166 Test matches, he scored 13289 runs at an average of 55.4 with 45 hundreds and 58 fifties.

David Warner Picks Jacques Kallis As Greatest Of All Time

In 328 ODIs, the South African all-rounder scored 11579 runs at an average of 44.4 with 17 tons and 86 fifties. Kallis also played 25 T20Is scoring 666 runs with five fifties. Coupled with his runs, he picked up 577 international wickets.

Bradman is perhaps the best to have ever played the game. Sachin Tendulkar holds the records for most runs and centuries while AB De Villiers is among the modern greats but Warner was very particular about Jacques Kallis being the greatest of all time.

Warner himself is among the top run-getters for Australia in ODIs and Test cricket. He scored 647 runs in the 2019 World Cup and will look to replicate his 2019 World Cup form if Australia are to win the World Cup.

The final two ODIs will be played in Indore (September 24, Sunday) and Rajkot (September 27, Wednesday). India have a 1-0 lead in the series, having won the first ODI by 5 wickets in Mohali under the leadership of KL Rahul.
