India openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal have helped team create the history in the longest format of the game in the ongoing first Test against West Indies at Windsor Park in Roseau, Dominica. They have batted staggering well and have put their side in the dominant position. 

The duo stitched 229 runs partnership for the opening wicket and helped India take the lead in the first innings. This has been the first time, Indian Cricket Team have taken the lead in the first innings without losing a wicket.

After India bundled out West Indies for 150 runs, Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal made a mockery of the opposition’s bowling lineup and made them work hard. The duo looked solid on the crease and batted for more than 75 overs, helping India go past 200 runs with ease.

Both Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal slammed centuries before the Indian skipper was back in the hut for 103 runs. Their 229-run partnership opening partnership for India in West Indies in Tests is the highest by any Indian opening duo as they surpassed Wasim Jaffer and Virender Sehwag’s 159 runs in 2006. Also, it was the highest opening partnership for India against West Indies in Tests.
