IND vs BAN: "Axar Patel's Pace Makes It Difficult For Batters When The Ball Starts To Turn" - Wasim Jaffer

Indian Cricket Team had a topsy-turvy Day 4 of the 1st Test Match. The Men in Blue were able to take 6 wickets for 272 runs but had to toil a lot. Axar Patel was the pick of the bowlers who took 3 wickets for 50 runs in 27 overs as the spinner was spot on with his line and length.
Bangladesh’s opening batter Zakir Hasan struck a brilliant century in his debut Test Match as the batter showed immense mental application. The left-handed batter struck 12 fours and 1 six in his innings as earlier the batter along with Najmul Shanto formed an invaluable opening partnership of 124 runs.

Wasim Jaffer on Axar Patel
Wasim Jaffer was having an interaction with ESPNcricinfo and was asked about Axar Patel.
“Well, I think he showed his skills today and anytime the ball spins a bit, Axar becomes more lethal. We all know, his straighter ball is more dangerous as compared to the other balls because he can get LBW,” said Wasim Jaffer.

“When he starts to spin, the other edge of the bat also comes into the play and he showed that against Yasir Ali, Mushfiqur Rahim & Nurul Hasan. When the ball starts to spin, the pace with which Axar bowls becomes more even for the batters whether to avoid the pads or getting bowled,” he added.
Steep Task Ahead of Bangladesh
Bangladesh would sense that they have an outside chance of winning the Test Match as they require another 241 runs with 4 wickets in hand. All eyes would be on Shakib as his wicket would be decisive. We should not forget that batting out more than 100 overs is never easy in 4th innings.
India on the other hand would be aiming to wrap up the tail. There are chances that India may use pace from both ends as the ball is still quite new. Surprisingly Mohammed Siraj hasn’t been amongst the wickets. It would be interesting to see what tactics KL Rahul applies as the morning session would decide the fate of the Test Match.
