The 31-year-old Saurashtra left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat is unavailable for selection for the first Test of the two-match series against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team due to logistical issues, according to a Cricbuzz report.
The seasoned left-arm speedster Jaydev Unadkat has been called up to India’s Test squad in Bangladesh. This is Unadkat’s just second call-up to the Test squad, which has come after 12 long years. He made his Test debut in the first Test of the 2010-11 tour of South Africa, where he went wicketless and conceded 101 runs in 26 overs.
Reportedly, the left-arm pacer is still stuck in Rajkot and he is yet to receive his visa papers. Also, the logistical department is working out every way possible to send him to Bangladesh at the earliest.
“The latest from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is that the 31-year-old pacer has not received his visa papers and the logistics department in the board is making efforts to transport him to Bangladesh. As of Tuesday, Unadkat is believed to be still at home in Rajkot,” as quoted by Cricbuzz.

Jaydev Unadkat’s Absence Could Open The Doors For Navdeep Saini
India are likely to field Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Siraj as two specialist pacers in the playing XI. Navdeep Saini could be the third pace-bowling option or if they need an extra spinner Saurabh Kumar could make his India debut. The left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav could also be included in the playing XI if India need an extra spinner.
The first Test match of the series will be played at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram from December 14 to 18 and the second Test will be played from December 22 to 26 at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
