Rajkumar Sharma, Virat Kohli’s former coach, feels that the team’s recent dismal white-ball performances should not be attributed to India’s top-order big guns.
The second One-Day International (ODI) between India (IND) and Bangladesh (BAN) will be played on Wednesday, December 7 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.

Bangladesh struck first in the series with the help of an outstanding performance earlier in the week. The hosts achieved an unlikely victory thanks to the contributions of Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shakib Al Hasan, respectively, with the ball and the bat.
India would want to improve its performance in order to tie the series. Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli, the top three batsmen, will be expected to break out of their recent ODI funk.
“Our top order is our biggest strength”: Rajkumar Sharma
Rajkumar Sharma described senior batsmen Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul as priceless assets during a debate on India News Sports. He argued that, other than these individuals, no one has shown to be a matchwinner for the national team in recent years.
“We have four such top-order batters who have consistently performed well over the years.” We can’t blame them, because our strongest suit is our top order” Rajkumar Sharma said.
“These are the only three or four guys we have who can compete with what is going on in world cricket. Apart from them, no other player has arrived and won five matches for India on his own” Rajkumar Sharma Added.
In particular, the Men in Blue have come under fire from fans for failing to win an ICC title since 2013. After an ugly 10-wicket loss to eventual champions England in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia this year, Rohit Sharma’s team was unable to advance to the tournament final.
