England is set to take on India in a three-match ODI series. The ENG vs IND 1st ODI will take place on July 12 (Tuesday). The venue of the clash is Kennington Oval Stadium in London. Recently, England lost to India in the T20I series 2-1.

England is led by Jos Buttler in the ENG vs IND ODI series. Rohit Sharma is the captain of India in the series. England will aim to bounce back in the ODI series after losing the T20I series. Here we take a glance at England’s predicted playing XI against India in the 1st ODI.

Jos Buttler is the skipper of England in ENG vs IND ODI series and will lead the team in the 1st ODI as well. He will also keep the stumps for the team and bat as one of the openers in the match. The right-handed batsman struggled to score runs in the recent T20I series. Buttler scored just 22 runs in 3 games getting out at a low score in every game.

Jason Roy

Jason Roy might be another opener for the team in ENG vs IND 1st ODI. Jason-Jos is the best choice of openers for the team although they are facing issues in their form. Roy also had a similar fate like Buttler in the recent T20I series against India. The right-handed batsman scored just 31 runs in 3 T20I games against India.

Liam Livingstone

Liam Livingstone might be the one-down batter for England in the ENG vs IND 1st ODI. The right-handed batsman was part of the T20I series. He scored 57 runs in 3 games with a 42-run unbeaten knock in one match. Livingstone is a hard-hitting batsman and will be a powerful player for the team. He can also be used as a secondary spin bowler.

Jonny Bairstow

Jonny Bairstow might be another middle-order batsman for England in the match. The right-handed batsman was not part of the recent T20I series. However, Bairstow played fabulous knocks in the one-off Test against India. Slamming a century in both innings, he also won the player of the match award. Bairstow will aim to score runs with similar confidence in the ODI series against India as well.

Moeen Ali
