Ishant Sharma, an Indian pace bowler, predicts that for the remaining of the T20I series against England, Virat Kohli will take Deepak Hooda’s spot at third base.

After missing the first T20I in Southampton, where India won by 50 runs, the skipper rejoined the team.

A selection dilemma exists at the No. 3 position as a result of Deepak Hooda’s recent performances and Virat Kohli’s recent bad form.

Ishant Sharma asserted on Jatin Sapru’s YouTube channel that once Virat Kohli is a member of the team, his selection is unavoidable:

“Virat Kohli will enter at No. 3, which I believe will be difficult for Deepak Hooda. No matter how hard you try to convince yourself otherwise, Kohli will always play if he is available.”

“Ravindra Jadeja should replace Axar Patel, He can strike the ball just as well as Dinesh Karthik and Hardik Pandya.”

‘Suryakumar Yadav performing admirably in the middle order’: Ishant Sharma

With Hardik Pandya comfortably occupying the No.5 spot and Suryakumar Yadav excelling in the middle order, Ishant Sharma isn’t seeing Shreyas Iyer breaking into the starting Xi.

“Suryakumar Yadav, I believe, will play both of the remaining games at No. 4 ahead of Shreyas Iyer. Because these are back-to-back matches, they may rotate the five incoming players.”

Hardik Pandya was named player of the match for his record-breaking all-round performance in India’s 50-run victory over England in the first T20I on Thursday.
