Twitter Reacts As Ravindra Jadeja Brings Up 3rd Test Century On Day 2 Of Edgbaston Test
Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja carried on from his overnight score of 83* to bring up his third Test century on Day 2 of the Edgbaston Test.
Jadeja had stitched a stunning 222-run partnership with Rishabh Pant, who himself scored a blistering 146 off just 111 balls on the first day of the fifth and final Test between the two teams.
Pant had done the bulk of the scoring in the partnership but Jadeja understood his role. He hung around until the 24-year-old southpaw was dismissed late on Day 1 before farming the strike.
After ending the first day on 83, Jadeja began the second day with an aggressive mindset. He took on the loose balls and scored boundaries at will. He also received a life while on 94 with Zak Crawley dropping a catch in the slip cordon.
On the very next ball, Jadeja cut a short of a length delivery from Matthew Potts to reach the milestone. The Saurashtra player proceeded to do the trademark sword celebration, acknowledging the applause from the crowd.
Jadeja fell soon after his century to James Anderson, who picked up his fourth wicket in the process. India inched closer to the 400-run mark and will be happy if they get there after being down at 98/5.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to Ravindra Jadeja’s century:
He came when all the big guns failed, absorbed all the pressure, contributed in a partnership and then scored a wonderful hundred. This has been one of the most mature innings I’ve seen. Sir Jadeja, you are magnificent! #EngvsInd pic.twitter.com/5KeFNfJmLU

Forget his 242 Test wickets for a while and just applaud @imjadeja for the discipline and class he’s shown to get a Test 100 in England – in testing and very adverse conditions with the game sense that will define him for years to come #INDvsENG #Jadeja
