IND vs IRE: 5 Indian Batters With The Most Runs In T20Is Against Ireland

India plays Ireland in a two-match T20I series later this month. The two T20Is will be played on June 28 and 28 at the Village Ground in Dubin. India heads into this series straight after they complete their full-fledged tour to England comprising of one Test, three T20Is and three ODIs.

India and Ireland have played three T20Is, with the Men in Blue winning all three games. The Indian side last played a T20I against Ireland in 2018. Both India and Ireland have named their squads for the series. Rahul Tripathi has finally got his much-deserved opportunity to make his India T20I debut. Sanju Samson has also got a worthy return call after a memorable IPL 2022 season.

The senior players are still missing for India for the series. The side will be led by Hardik Pandya with Bhuvneshwar Kumar as his deputy. Suryakumar Yadav makes a comeback into the side as several other youngsters have been given a chance.

Ireland has also announced a 14-member side with Andrew Balbirnie to lead them. Curtis Campher, Gareth Delany, and George Dockrell are the regular names who are a part of the squad. All-rounders Simi Singh and Shane Getkate have been left out from the squad that played in the T20 World Cup Qualifier earlier this year. 5) Hardik Pandya – 38 Runs From 2 Matches

Pandya ranks fifth in the list of highest run-getters against Ireland. He was a part of the 2018 tour to Ireland where he scored 38 runs from two games including a 32 in the second game. India scored 213 in that match and won the game by 143 runs bowling out Ireland for just 70.

4) KL Rahul – 70 Runs From 1 Match

Rahul scored a 70 in the same match that Hardik Pandya scored 32. He ranks fourth on this list. The Indian batters fired in unison to take the side to 213 and won the game by 143 runs. He is missing from the series this time around with a groin injury. He will be leaving for Germany shortly for his treatment as he is eyeing making a comeback in the T20 World Cup.

3) Shikhar Dhawan -74 Runs From 1 Match

Dhawan is also not a part of the Indian squad that’s named for the Ireland series. He scored 74 in the first T20I in 2018. His opening partner Rohit Sharma scored a 97 in the same match as India scored 208/5. Ireland scored 132/9 in their 20 overs as the touring side won the game by 76 runs.

2) Suresh Raina – 79 Runs From 2 Matches

Raina was a part of the Indian squad that toured Ireland in 2018. He ended up scoring 79 runs from two matches. The southpaw scored 69 in the second T20I in which the rest of the batters chipped in as well to take India to 213/4. The Indian bowlers dismissed Ireland for just 70 as they won the game by 143 runs.

1) Rohit Sharma – 97 Runs From 2 Matches

Rohit Sharma tops the list for the most runs against Ireland by any Indian batter with 97 runs from two games. He scored 97 in the first of the two games. Rohit is not a part of the Indian squad which will be touring Ireland this time.

He will be in England for the Test and the white-ball series. He is a part of a group of senior cricketers who have been rested from the series to give the youngsters a few opportunities ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia.
