IND vs NZ: "Glenn Phillips Could Have A Say In The Next Season Of The IPL" - Ross Taylor

The 3rd T20I match between India and New Zealand was tied due to the rain according to the DLS method. The Black Caps would be dejected as they had a chance to level the series. Glenn Phillips, the dashing batter was in scintillating form as he smashed a knock of 54 runs in 33 balls where he struck 5 fours and 3 sixes.
The Black Caps would rue the fact that they couldn’t finish on a high. The team managed only 31 runs in the last 5 overs and it looked as if they were in a hurry to play shots. Mohammed Siraj & Arshdeep Singh didn’t bowl any freebies as they made Kiwis work for every run.
Ross Taylor On Glenn Phillips
Ross Taylor was seen interacting with ESPNcricinfo and was asked about Glenn Phillips. ” He is batting at No,4,5 role and for him to come out and bat at that freedom especially after Devon Conway and Kane Williamson. He has the dynamic power which the team needs and adds to his fielding and the way he runs between the wickets is infectious,” said Taylor.
“I think he needs to be given opportunity (in IPL), he’s been to Royals and SunRisers Hyderabad but the way he has batted so far and been so consistent at it. With Pooran and Williamson not there, he could be in line for SRH. T20 Cricket is about being fearless,” he added.
Glenn Phillips An Asset
The right-handed batter has become an integral part of the team. As mentioned by Taylor, he has been consistent which is invaluable in T20I Cricket. Phillips knows how to frustrate the batters by smashing an odd boundary.
New Zealand would be hoping that the batter continues his purple patch. With The T20I Series lost, the Black Caps have a lot to ponder as their batters like Neesham are not performing according to their credentials. It won’t be wrong to say that New Zealand doesn’t have a reliant finisher who can provide impetus at the back end of the innings.
