India are currently touring New Zealand for a white-ball series comprising three T20Is and as many ODIs. The Men in Blue began their tour of New Zealand with a 65-run win against the Kane Williamson-led team at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Sunday, November 20.
Suryakumar Yadav continued his remarkable form from the T20 World Cup 2022 and hammered an unbeaten 111 off 51 deliveries with 11 fours and seven sixes to help India score a match-winning total, helping his side to a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

I’m Sure This Was Another Video Game Innings By Suryakumar Yadav – Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli posted a humorous tweet for his teammate and friend. While he admitted that he didn’t see Suryakumar Yadav’s performance live, Kohli was certain that it was a video game knock where the batsman simply toyed with the opposition bowlers and smashed them around the park with ease.

Kohli, taking to Twitter to praise Suryakumar, wrote: “Numero Uno showing why he’s the best in the world. Didn’t watch it live but I’m sure this was another video game innings by him.”
I Enjoy Batting With Virat Kohli – Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav said that he will take Virat Kohli’s comments regarding his batting style as a compliment and will continue to bat in the same style. Surya also mentioned how much fun batting with Kohli was and how much they respect each other’s game.
Later, during a post-match press conference, when he was asked about Kohli’s tweet, Surya said, “Usko toh mai ek compliment ki tarah lunga aur try karunga ki aur accha kaise kar sakun (I will take that as a compliment and try to do better)”.

“Recently we played some games together, had good partnerships, I enjoy batting with him (Kohli). One thing is that I have to run a lot because he is super fit, but, at the same time, when we are inside, we don’t talk a lot about the game, we know we respect each other’s game. I only tell him that you keep playing on one side and I will keep batting at the other end. He doesn’t say much, just tells me that keep batting the way you have been doing and enjoy it,” Suryakumar said
