Former Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria has suggested that Rishabh Pant should be selected in India’s starting XI against New Zealand in the third ODI notwithstanding the ongoing argument between Pant and Sanju Samson. On Wednesday, the game will take place in Christchurch (November 30).

After experiencing numerous setbacks during the ongoing white-ball tour of New Zealand, Kaneria believes that the team management must support the southpaw before letting him go.

Danish Kaneria stated on his YouTube channel on Tuesday: “9:50 – It’s time to offer Rishabh Pant the full series and then try to show him the exit door. We have provided you with numerous opportunities.”

Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan, according to Danish Kaneria, should be given opportunities in the upcoming series.

He stated: “Many wicket-keeper batsmen are breaking through, such as Ishan Kishan. He has performed anytime he got the opportunity. Sanju has been dependable.”

“Rishabh Pant is a superb player in Test cricket”: Danish Kaneria

Danish Kaneria says Pant is a red-ball player who does not belong on India’s white-ball team. He also voiced concern over his previous dismissals, while applauding Sanju Samson for making the most of his limited opportunities.

“10:30 – I have been saying for a long time that Rishabh Pant is a red-ball player. He is a superb player in Test cricket. ODI and T20Is are not his class.”

“How he gets out in T20I and ODI cricket puts a lot of pressure on the team, but Sanju builds his innings and takes it to the end, supports the team, provides stability and how he bats, the kind of shots he plays, we can’t forget that.”

The three-match ODI series that will take place in Bangladesh next month does not include Samson, which is interesting.
