IND vs NZ: "Should Not Waste Any More Time": Danish Kaneria Wants Team India To Establish Split Captaincy

Danish Kaneria requests that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) name a new captain for the team’s future T20I matches.
The former cricketer recently suggested during a YouTube video that the team’s regular captain Rohit Sharma may still serve as captain for Test and ODI games. He did, however, believe that the shortest format should be overseen by someone like Hardik Pandya.
Kaneria argued that now was the ideal moment to execute these changes since they would be able to prepare a team for the future:
“India should have different captains for each format.” It makes sense if they use the same skipper for Tests and ODIs. T20Is, on the other hand, require a different skipper, Hardik Pandya could be named captain for the shortest format. They should not waste any more time in identifying these responsibilities” Danish Kaneria said.
Notably, Pandya has been chosen to lead the Men in Blue during their current three-match T20I series against New Zealand in Rohit Sharma’s place, who has been rested for the task.
“India needs a T20 specialist at the helm for the shortest format”: Danish Kaneria
Danish Kaneria went on to suggest that, in addition to the split captaincy, the squad should think about hiring a new coach for their T20I team. He claimed that Rahul Dravid should only play red-ball cricket and one-day internationals.
The 41-year-old stressed the need of including a T20 specialist in the think tank for the shortest format:
“While we’re on the subject of shared captaincy, the same may be said for the head coach. There must be various coaches. Rahul Dravid, in my opinion, is more suited to lengthier formats. For the shortest format, India requires a T20 specialist at the helm.”
Team India is currently in New Zealand for three Twenty20 Internationals and as many ODIs. While Pandya will lead the side in T20Is, experienced opener Shikhar Dhawan will captain the team in 50-over matches.
