IND vs SA: India’s Predicted Playing XI Against South Africa– India’s Tour of South Africa 2021, 2nd Test

India and South Africa will lock horns with each other in the 2nd Test of the ongoing Test series. IND vs SA 2nd Test begins on January 3 at The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. India won the 1st Test by 113 runs and lead the three-match series 1-0 currently. India are led by Virat Kohli in the series while Dean Elgar is the skipper of South Africa.

In IND vs SA 1st Test, India slammed 327 in the 1st innings. The hosts replied with 197 all-out, giving a 130-run lead to India. With 174-10 on the board in the 2nd innings, India set up a target of 305 for the home side, However, South Africa were crushed for just 191 and lost the match by 113 runs. IND vs SA: India’s Predicted Playing XI Against South Africa– India’s Tour of South Africa 2021, 2nd Test

KL Rahul will be the opener for India in the next game as well. KL Rahul was the player of the match in IND vs SA 1st Test as he slammed a spectacular century in the 1st innings. In total, the right-handed batsman slammed 146 runs in the match at an average of 73.0, hitting a fabulous 123 in the 1st innings.

Mayank Agarwal

Mayank Agarwal will be the other opener in the IND vs SA 2nd Test. Agarwal did a good job as an opener in the 1st Test. He set up an opening partnership of 117 runs with KL Rahul in the 1st innings. He also slammed a fine knock of 60. The right-handed batsman will look to continue with his valuable job as an opener in the next game as well.

Cheteshwar Pujara

Cheteshwar Pujara might be the no.3 batsman for India. He did not perform in the last game. He got out for a duck in the 1st innings before getting out for 16 in the next innings. Pujara is a Test specialist for India and the team will give him more chances to give his best in the series.

Virat Kohli (C)

Virat Kohli is the skipper for India in the current series and will lead the team in the next game as well. Kohli, who averages above 50 in Tests currently, needs to come up with a good knock in the series or his average will fall below the 50 mark. He scored 35 in one of the innings in the last match. However, fans are still eagerly waiting for Kohli to slam a century in Tests.

Ajinkya Rahane

Ajinkya Rahane is another middle-order batsman who might be part of the IND vs SA 2nd Test. Rahane has been facing trouble with his form. He averages about 20 in Tests this year and has not managed to smash a century since December 2020. In the last game, he slammed 48 runs in one innings but failed to convert it into a big knock.

Rishabh Pant (WK)

Rishabh Pant will be the wicketkeeper for the team in the IND vs SA 2nd Test. He was the wicketkeeper in the 1st game as well. the left-handed batsman could only muster 42 runs in 2 innings at an average of 21.0. He scored most 34 runs in the 2nd innings but failed to convert it into a big score.


Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin will be the spin all-rounder in the next game as well. On a seam-friendly wicket like Centurion, the right-arm spinner can only grab 2 wickets in his kitty at an average of 27.50. With the bat, Ashwin largely failed to make an impact, hitting 14 and 4 in both innings. He will look to come up with a better show in the next game.

Shardul Thakur gave an average show in the last Test as compared to his ability. The seam all-rounder picked 2 wickets at an average of 31.0, picking the least wickets than other pacers in the team. With the bat, he had a good opportunity to showcase his ability but he could not perform, losing his wicket for just 10 and 4 in both innings. However, he might get another chance in the upcoming game.


Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami gave an astonishing performance in the last game. With a five-wicket haul in the 1st innings, he reached the tally of 200 Test wickets. In the 2nd innings too, he picked 3 crucial wickets to grab total of 8 wickets in the match at an average of 13.37. Shami will be one of the pacers in the next game as well.

Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah will be another pacer in the playing XI for India in IND vs SA 2nd Test. The right-arm pacer bowled brilliantly in 1st Test, scalping 5 wickets at an average of 13.20. His pair with Shami has done wonders for the team in the pace department in the past and he will look to continue with his impressive show in the next game as well.

Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj will be another pacer who will be part of the team in the IND vs SA 2nd Test. The right-arm pacer managed to trouble batsmen with his sheer pace and bouncers in the 1st Test. Siraj grabbed 3 wickets in the match, bowing at an average of 30.66. However, all of his three wickets were crucial batsmen. Siraj will add strength to the team’s attack.
