The IND vs SA series will be Team India‘s very first ODI series in 2022. They have a lot more white-ball cricket to play as the year progresses and would like to start on a winning note. The three-match IND vs SA ODI series will be played between January 19-21. The first two games will be played in Paarl while Cape Town will host the third and final ODI.

Both India and South Africa have named their respective ODI squads. India will be led by KL Rahul, while Temba Bavuma will be the Protean skipper. There are some class players on both sides which will make the IND vs SA ODI series a riveting contest. Heading into this series, India are placed fourth while the hosts are fifth on the ICC ODI rankings. Intense players from the two respective teams, Kagiso Rabada and Virat Kohli had had some intense battles whenever both these teams have played in any format. While the growth of Rabada as an international cricketer is an inspirational story, the release of the pressure of captaincy might make Kohli a better player than before.

The Rabada vs Kohli battle is the subplot of the ODI series in the absence of Rohit Sharma. In the ODI format, Rabada has picked the wicket of Virat on two occasions.

Jasprit Bumrah vs Quinton De Kock

The Mumbai Indians teammates will be playing from the opposite camps in the ODI series. Both players are great friends when playing for their IPL franchise but the friendship will take a break for the moment when both these players face off in the ODI series.

Quinton De Kock announced his Test retirement due to the birth of his first child. However, elongating his white-ball career was a thought from De Kock in hindsight as well.

David Miller vs Yuzvendra Chahal

Chahal is making a comeback to the Indian squad after missing the T20 World Cup in Australia. He has a point to prove to the selectors and so has David Miller. The southpaw will have to shoulder the responsibilities in the middle-order to score crucial runs. This is when he will have to face Chahal who with guile and variations can be a tricky customer to face.

With Miller always having the tendency to take on the spinner, it will be interesting to see if he can take Chahal to the cleaners of will the leggie win the battle.
