Mohammed Shami gave an astonishing performance during the ongoing India vs South Africa 1st Test in Centurion. The Indian pacer picked 5 wickets and reached his 200 Test wickets. Rohit Sharma, Harbhajan Singh, and VVS Laxman hailed the Indian pacer for bagging the achievement and congratulated him on Twitter.

Mohammed Shami picked 5 wickets to crush the opposition for 197 in the 2nd innings. He dismissed Aiden Markram, Keegan Petersen, Temba Bavuma, Wiaan Mulder, and Kagiso Rabada, thereby hunting 4 crucial batsmen. Shami also became the 5th Indian bowler to grab 200 wickets in Tests.

Rohit Sharma, VVS Laxman, and Harbhajan Singh congratulated Mohammed Shami on Twitter for reaching the tally of 200 Test wickets.

Mohammed Shami now accounts for 200 wickets in 55 Tests, bowling at an average of 27.10 in 103 innings. He has also picked 6 five-wicket hauls in his Test career so far. With his impeccable performance in the ongoing IND vs SA Test, India bowled out South Africa for 197 in the 1st innings.

Earlier, India smacked 327-10 in the 1st innings, with a century by KL Rahul, who mustered 123 runs. Mayank Agarwal also played a good knock of 60 runs. Then, with a 5-wicket haul by Shami, 2 wickets each by Jasprit Bumrah and Shardul Thakur, and 1 wicket by Mohammed Siraj, India bowled out South Africa for 197.

Gaining a 130-run lead after the conclusion of 1st innings, India gained a dominant position in the match. Later, India lost Mayank Agarwal cheaply in the 2nd innings. Now with 16-1 on the scoreboard at the stumps of day 3, India lead by 146 runs in the match.
