Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced the Proteas squad for the upcoming three-match One Day Internationals (ODI) series against KL Rahul-led India National Cricket Team and pacer Marco Jansen has received his maiden ODI call-up.
After the three-match Test series between India and South Africa, the teams will play a three-match One Day Internationals (ODI) series which will begin from January 19, 2022, at Boland Park, Paarl. The second One Day Internationals will be played at Boland Park, Paarl on January 21, 2022, and the third and final One Day Internationals will be played on January 23, 2022, at the Newlands, Cape Town.
Meanwhile, the South Africa One Day Internationals (ODI) squad will be led by the 31-year-old Temba Bavuma and Keshav Maharaj has been named as his deputy for the series.
All the other notable names have been included in the squad including wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock who recently announced his retirement from Test cricket. Also, Wayne Parnell, Ryan Rickelton, Sisanda Magala and Zubayr Hamza have retained their spots.
Meanwhile, pacer Anrich Nortje who recently suffered an injury and was ruled out of the Test series has not fully recovered and will miss the One Day Internationals series against India as well and the pace unit will be led by Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi once again.
