IND vs WI: Indian Youngsters Took Responsibility After Shikhar Dhawan Got Out, This Is A Big Thing – Danish Kaneria On 2nd ODI

Former Pakistan National Cricket Team player Danish Kaneria lauded young India National Cricket Team batters for taking responsibility after the dismissal of skipper Shikhar Dhawan in the second ODI of the three-match ODI series against the West Indies National Cricket Team.

India National Cricket Team won the second ODI of the series against West Indies by 2 wickets to take an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the series. Chasing the target of 312 runs, India lost Dhawan early on in the innings for 13. However, Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson and Axar Patel smashed brilliant half-centuries to take India past the finish line.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Kaneria lauded India’s growing pool of talent, saying that the players coming into the side are match-winners. He said:

“The youngsters in the Indian team like Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson took responsibility after skipper Shikhar Dhawan got out (in the second ODI). This is a big thing. The lot that is coming into Indian cricket are serious match-winners – be it bowlers, all-rounders or finishers. They put an extra topping on the flavour.”

India National Cricket Team captain Rohit Sharma along with Rishabh Pant, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and Mohammed Shami was rested for the three-match ODI series against the West Indies National Cricket Team. Dhawan was given the captaincy responsibility in the absence of Rohit and other prominent names.

Meanwhile, Kaneria lauded Dhawan for his captaincy and said that the veteran opener rotated his bowlers very well. He said:

“In absence of big names like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah among many others, these boys have won overseas. Be it an A, B or C team, when you go overseas, conditions are against you. Hats off to the young team. Shikhar Dhawan’s captaincy has been admirable. He has rotated the bowlers very well.”
