Parthiv Patel, a former wicket-keeper, thinks Team India would be happy with their efforts in the 3-0 series victory against the West Indies. After two tight matches earlier in the series, the Men in Blue pulled out a decisive victory in the third ODI on Wednesday (July 27), which was postponed due to rain.

Shikhar Dhawan was given the task of managing the backup team because most of the senior players were on rest after the tour of England. Ravindra Jadeja’s injury, which kept him out of action for all three games, delivered India an early setback.

On the ODI phase of their West Indies trip, the squad came together to secure a whitewash.

Parthiv Patel Praise Indian Team

Axar Patel and the top order were praised for their achievements throughout the season. Parthiv Patel said on Cricbuzz:

“There have been quite a few positives for India from this ODI series. The way Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer batted, showed a lot of consistency.

Sanju Samson’s wicket-keeping was brilliant, Axar Patel, the way he bowled and batted was brilliant. If he can bat the way he is batting, that gives another option to India when Jadeja is unfit.”

Over the course of the three matches, India’s top order was what set the two teams apart. Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill, and Dhawan were among the runs, and Iyer’s excellent batting let him temporarily put his concerns about the short ball behind him.

For the first time since the 2020 tour of Australia, Gill played in an ODI match. He was selected Player of the Series. In the series, he scored 205 runs, including two half-centuries.

With noteworthy performances, Team India’s all-rounders also made a significant contribution to the victory.

In the second ODI, Axar Patel’s brilliant unbeaten 64 helped the visitors steal victory from the jaws of defeat.

Deepak Hooda’s Bowling Skills A Huge Plus For Indian Team: Parthiv Patel

Deepak Hooda also contributed in a useful way throughout, making a strong impression. In the second ODI, Hooda bowled nine overs, picking up the first wicket, and he also made a significant 33 in the run chase.

Parthiv Patel emphasised Hooda’s efforts to the 3-0 series victory.

“You might not see runs or wickets from Hooda in this series, but when a part-time option can give you 8-10 overs and can bat in any situation, it is a huge plus.”

The former wicket-keeper stated that visitors will be satisfied with their performance in the Caribbean thus far:

“All in all, India will be very happy with the way this series has panned out.”

A five-match T20I series between the Men in Blue and the West Indies is set to start on July 29.
