Paul Valthaty, a former cricketer for India, stated that Ishan Kishan and Rahul Tripathi are likely to bat at Nos. 4, 5, or 6 in the order if given the chance to play in the starting XI.
Team India will play its first of three ODIs against Zimbabwe in Harare on Thursday, returning to limited-overs action.

Rahul Tripathi was one of the batsmen who received his first ODI call-up during the series. The 31-year-old superstar had previously been called up for the first time by India for the two-match T20I series against Ireland, but he did not play in any of the matches. Tripathi, though, has a better chance of making his international debut against Zimbabwe because the team has several opening batsmen.

“This setup, more than experiments, follows a specific sequence.” Rahul Tripathi had missed the previous series due to injury. I would like to see him make his debut. He is in his forties and has been a seasoned campaigner.”
“It would be fantastic if he could finally fulfill his dream of wearing an India cap. It would be uplifting for his family, well-wishers, and childhood coach,” Valthaty told the Hindustan Times.

Paul Valthaty went on to say that if both Ishan Kishan and Rahul Tripathi are given a chance in the XI, they will likely bat at no.4, 5, or 6 in the order.
“There are a lot of openers in the starting XI.” “If Ishan Kishan and Rahul Tripathi get a chance, they will probably bat at 4, 5, or 6,” Paul Valthaty said.

KL Rahul, who participated in the Indian Premier League but missed India’s first match after the league due to a hamstring injury, will serve as the team’s captain and returns to the international setup for the first time since February.
Rahul was re-called to the team for the Windies T20Is, however, he ultimately had to withdraw from the series due to a positive Covid-19 test.
