Indian bowler Arjun Tendulkar, who is the son of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, was bought by Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction on Sunday, February 13 in Bengaluru.
The left-arm speedster Arjun was part of Mumbai Indians (MI) as a net bowler for several years and he was bought by Mumbai Indians at the Indian Premier League 2021 mega auction for INR 20 lakh but he was ruled out of the tournament due to an injury.
Arjun Tendulkar had set INR 20 Lakh as his base price for the Indian Premier League 2022 mega auction. Mumbai Indians made the opening bid for their former player and they were expecting to get him at the base price however, Gujarat Titans came up with a bid for Arjun. Eventually, Mumbai Indians were able to get him for INR 30 lakh.
The 22-year-old pacer has played just 2 T20 games in his career and has picked 2 wickets at an average of 33.50 and an economy of 9.57. He last played T20 cricket in January 2021.
Meanwhile, Arjun Tendulkar will be sharing the dressing room with some of the most talented pacers like Jasprit Bumrah, Tymal Mills, Jofra Archer and Riley Meredith.
Notably, Mumbai Indians (MI) bought Jofra Archer for INR 8 crore however he won’t be available for the 2022 edition of the tournament as he is not fully fit to compete.
