The first match of the IPL 2022 will have Kolkata Knight Riders take on Chennai Super Kings on 26^th March 2022 at Wankhede Cricket Stadium. Kolkata Knight Riders will be led by a new skipper in Shreyas Iyer this year.

Shreyas Iyer has been in outstanding form and this should keep the team in good stead. He will be their biggest bet in the batting department. Besides, the franchisee will also be banking on the likes of Venkatesh Iyer, Nitish Rana, Ajinkya Rahane, to do the bulk of the scoring.

Chennai Super Kings, on the other hand, are the defending champions and they would be looking to start the tournament on a winning note.
