Mumbai Indians play Chennai Super Kings with an eye to avenge their defeat in the season previously in match 59 of IPL 2022. The match will be played at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. Having been knocked out of the season, Mumbai would like to end the season on a high by winning their remaining three games.
Mumbai Indians lost their previous match against KKR. However, if Mumbai beats CSK in this game, Chennai will be knocked out of the competition as well. Thus there is a lot to play for as the season reaches the business end of the tournament.
Mumbai Indians will miss the services of Suryakumar Yadav who has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a muscle injury in his left forearm. Mumbai played Ramandeep Singh in his place against KKR, however, the move did not work out as well as they would have wanted. Mumbai will seek another replacement for SKY as they try to get their combination right against CSK.
Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians: Mumbai Indians’ Predicted Playing XI Against Chennai Super Kings, IPL 2022, Match 59, CSK vs MI
Rohit Sharma
The Mumbai Indians skipper will look to finish on a high in the remaining three games. He scored just 2 against KKR and was out to a controversial dismissal. Against CSK, Rohit is inching closer to 800 runs overall.

Ishan Kishan
Kishan’s lack of form has been a big disappointment for MI. He scored his third fifty of the season which happened to end on a losing cause. The southpaw will open alongside his skipper.
Ramandeep Singh / Hrithik Shokeen
Mumbai can choose between Ramandeep and Shokeen for the number three spot. Ramandep scored 12 off 16 balls against KKR. On the other hand, with Shokeen they can get someone who can bat and also chip in with the ball if required.
Kieron Pollard
With no SKY in the line-up, Pollard can bat a bit higher in the line-up. He can bat at number four against CSK and give himself some time before he decides to take the bowlers on. Pollard has his highest IPL score against this very side. However, his lack of form is a big concern for Mumbai this season.
Tim David
Tim David has played a few important cameos since his return to the playing XI. Against KKR, he started well and scored 13 in no time before he fell to Varun Chakravarthy’s trap.
Daniel Sams
Sams has also performed well with the ball since his return to the playing XI. He defended nine off the final over against GT and went for just 26 runs off his spell against KKR. He will be one of the bowlers in the playing XI.
Murugan Ashwin
Ashwin should retain his place in the XI. He bowled well against KKR going for 35 runs off his four overs which also included a wicket. Ashwin will be the specialist leggie in the playing XI.
Kumar Kartikeya
The left-ar spinners dismissed Venkatesh Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane in the match against KKR. He has a bagful of tricks and should be a handly option against the big-hitters of CSK.
Jasprit Bumrah
Bumrah took 5 for 9 against KKR and registered his best figures in T20 cricket. Heading into this game, he had just five wickets in the season and in just one game he has taken his tally to 10. He will have his match-up against MS Dhoni and a few others.
Riley Meredith
Australian pacer Riley Meredith will conclude the likely Mumbai Indians playing XI against CSK. The side can pose a challenge with the bowling attack at their disposal and with Bumrah back in form.
