The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) management is concerned over the England National Cricket Team all-rounder Moeen Ali’s delay in arrival due to visa issues.

Star England batting all-rounder Moeen Ali performed brilliantly for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 and played a crucial role in the team’s triumph in the tournament, as a result, he was retained by the franchise ahead of the Indian Premier League 2022 mega auction for INR 8 crore.

Meanwhile, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has said that Moeen Ali had applied for his visa on February 28 and he is yet to receive travel papers. Also, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is helping the franchise to get Moeen as soon as possible.

He had applied for his visa on February 28. It has been more than 20 days since the application was submitted. He has been a frequent traveller to India and yet he has not got the travel papers. We are hoping he will join the team soon. He has told us that he will take the very next flight after getting the papers,” said Kasi Viswanathan, the CEO of the franchise on Saturday (March 19) as quoted by Cricbuzz.

“Even the BCCI has got itself involved to help us. We are hoping that he will get the papers by Monday.”

Defending champions Chennai Super Kings will begin their Indian Premier League 2022 campaign with the battle against last year’s finalists Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium on March 26.

The new Gujarat Titans’ coaching staff member is also facing a similar issue as England all-rounder and he has been stuck in London, as reported by Cricbuzz.

The Ahmedabad-based franchise, Gujarat Titans, had enlarged their coaching staff by recruiting Abdul Naim of the United Kingdom and Mithun Manhas of Delhi. Manhas has already joined the team but Abdul Naim has been awaiting clearance of his travel documents

“We are sure the issue will get resolved soon,” said a Titans official as quoted by Cricbuzz.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is all set to begin from March 26 to May 29. All the games of the league stage will be played in Maharashtra across 4 different venues including Wankhede Stadium, Dy Patil Stadium, Brabourne Stadium and Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium.
