DC Schedule IPL 2022 Points Table, Squad, Match List, Time Table

Delhi Capitals have won three games and lost four in the IPL 2022 and are currently placed seventh on the points table. The Capitals contingent was hit by the COVID-19 outbreak as six of their members returned positive for the dreadful virus. Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh and New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Tim Seifert were amongst the playing members of the team to contract the virus.

Delhi Capitals’ couple of matches were shifted from Pune to Mumbai as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wanted to avoid further spread of the undetected cases in bus travelling. The Capitals found themselves in unwanted drama after skipper Rishabh Pant fumed anger over the decision of the onfield umpires.

In the match against Rajasthan Royals, the Capitals needed 36 runs in the last over to win. West Indies all-rounder Rovman Powell smashed compatriot Obed McCoy for three sixes to bring down the equation to 18 runs in three balls.

The third ball seemed to be over the waist height but the onfield umpires didn’t give it a no-ball and neither bothered to check with the third umpire. An infuriated Pant signalled his batters to come back to the crease before assistant coach Pravin Amre stepped on the pitch to chat with the umpires.

David Warner’s return to the squad has strengthened the batting order of the Delhi Capitals. Warner has paired with Shaw to make a lethal opening combination at the top.

After the Capitals bowlers bowled out Punjab Kings for 115, Warner and Shaw put 83 runs inside seven overs to romp to a nine-wicket win in just 10.3 overs. Kuldeep Yadav has bowled magnificently in the middle overs alongside Axar Patel, the former is the team’s leading wicket-taker in the tournament so far with 13 scalps in seven games.
