Cummins made headlines for scoring 56 off 15 deliveries against Mumbai Indians on April 6. Cummins became the joint-highest player to score the fastest IPL fifty in just 14 balls, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper KL Rahul is the othet player to achieve the feat.

However, Cummins didn’t make any vital contributions with the bat after the whirlwind knock against MI. The KKR pace bowler hasn’t made any significant impact with the bowl as well.

In just four matches, Cummins yielded 190 runs at an average of 47.5 and an economy rate of 12.0 and returned with four scalps.

After KKR’s seven-run loss against Rajasthan Royals, Cummins was subsequently dropped from the team. The Australian Test skipper warmed the bench against Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals on Thursday.

Does it mean u stop believing in your match winners?: Yuvraj Singh on Pat Cummins

Yuvraj expressed astonishment at Cummins’ omission from KKR’s playing XI. The former Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) and Pune Warriors India captain reckoned one shouldn’t drop match-winners based on a few poor games.

“I’m so surprised to see @patcummins30 sit out unless he’s injured? World-class all-rounder. If someone has had 2 or 3 tough games does it mean u stop believing in your match winners? cause they can win you 3 in a row as well !! just my opinion #DCvKKR,” Yuvraj tweeted.

KKR lost to Delhi Capitals by four wickets

The Shreyas Iyer-led side suffered its fifth successive loss after being outplayed by Delhi Capitals in Thursday’s clash.

Delhi Capitals clinched the match by four wickets to dent KKR’s hopes of qualifying the IPL 2022 playoffs.

Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav claimed 4/14 to limit KKR’s innings at 146/9. Nitish Rana (57) and Shreyas Iyer (42) played some moderate knocks to push a respectable score on the board.

Delhi Capitals opener David Warner scored a brisk 26-ball 42, including eight boundaries before Rovman Powell blitzed 33 runs in 16 balls as Capitals chased the target with one over to spare.
