Prithvi Shaw’s weakness against the pull shot was exposed once again during the Delhi Capitals’ (DC) run chase in Sunday afternoon’s IPL 2022 encounter against the Lucknow Super Giants, as per Aakash Chopra.
Shaw made just five runs before hitting Krishnappa Gowtham with an awkward pull shot off Dushmantha Chameera’s delivery. The Delhi Capitals were defeated by six runs while chasing a 196-run mark.
In a video posted to his YouTube account, Aakash Chopra discussed Shaw’s dismissal while commenting on the Delhi Capitals’ chase:
“You needed to get off to a good start; if you did, Lucknow would be under more strain. But then Mohsin Khan arrived, and the entire day was left to right. He bowled exceptionally well.”
“Dushmantha Chameera removed Prithvi Shaw; there is an issue with Prithvi Shaw; whenever he attempts to hit a short ball, it goes straight up in the air. He’s having a hard time with the pull.”
Aakash Chopra on skipper’s Rishabh Pant knock:
Rishabh Pant has been unable to turn his opportunities into significant knocks, according to Aakash Chopra. He remarked:
“Rishabh Pant also batted effectively and struck the ball well. Pant is approaching his peak performance. It’s just that he can’t turn his good bowling into big innings .”
Despite Rovman Powell and Axar Patel’s late-order performances, the Delhi Capitals were defeated by a slim margin.
Chopra elaborated: “Lalit’s bat did not ignite when Mitchell and Pant were removed. Rovman Powell attempted to just save you by hitting runs, but the job isn’t done yet. Axar tries, you have a lot of batting options.”
“Mohsin never failed to fulfill his duties, dismissing Rovman Powell and Shardul. He took four wickets, and Delhi was defeated by a narrow score once again.”
Delhi Capitals have only won 4 out of 9 games in the Indian Premier League 2022 and they are at the sixth position with 8 points.
