Delhi Capitals (DC) cricketer Tim Seifert put his wicket-keeping skills to use in Match 2 of the IPL 2022 season against Mumbai Indians to send back the dangerous all-rounder, Kieron Pollard.
Pollard had walked in after the fall of the debutante, Tilak Varma, with MI losing momentum after a quick start from their openers, Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan. He had to shoulder the responsibility of providing a strong finish in the death overs.
Unfortunately, his wings were clipped well before he took off as Seifert pulled off the first stunner of the new season. Pollard tried to hoick a good length delivery but only found the bottom of the bat.
It flew towards the left of Seifert, who was standing at mid-wicket. The kiwi batter leaped to his left and held onto the catch with both hands, showcasing his stunning fielding skills in his first game for the DC franchise.
Meanwhile, Kishan put the pressure of the price tag aside and began the season with a fifty. Alongside Rohit, he ensured that MI was off to a good start in the powerplay from where they could continue building the innings.
As for the team composition, both teams had quite a few fresh faces. Kuldeep Yadav returned to the playing XI for DC while Tilak Varma and Anmolpreet Singh were handed their debut caps for Mumbai.
