Liam Livingstone got stumped out by Rishabh Pant off Axar Patel in the last over of the powerplay as Delhi Capitals kept on plucking wickets.
Liam Livingstone has been terrific for Punjab Kings this season as he is amongst the top 10 run-getters and is also striking at over 180.
Punjab Kings Rocked Early
Rishabh Pant after winning the toss elected to field first. Mayank Agarwal was back for PBKS. He started well as he hit the first ball of the match for a boundary. The first wicket partnership raced to 33 runs in just 3.4 overs but then Lalit Yadav accounted for Shikhar Dhawan’s wicket courtesy of s brilliant catch by Rishabh Pant behind the stumps.
Mayank Agarwal soon followed him into the pavilion. Punjab would have been hoping that Livingstone would be the man to take them out of this tough situation as he had done in the past in earlier games, but it wasn’t to be as he was trying to hit Axar Patel out of the park got outfoxed as he was stumped by Rishabh Pant.
He danced down the track but Axar shortened his length just that little bit, the ball did not spin much but it straightened just enough to miss Livingstone’s bat. Pant did a brilliant job to take the bails off.
Delhi Capitals have been struggling with Covid 19 cases in their camp, but their performance on the field doesn’t indicate that it has any effect on how they play.
