Abhinav Manohar was roped in by Gujarat Titans in the mega auction ahead of IPL 2022. He played a few important innings for the side but was dismissed early against CSK. Set to chase 170 to win, Gujarat Titans were 48/4 in the eighth over and went down to being 87/5 in the 13th.
It was then that David Miller and Rashid Khan forged a 70-run stand in quick time which brought the Titans back in the game. Rashid who was also leading the side in the game, scored 40 off just 21 balls while Miller went on to score an unbeaten 94 taking the Titans home.
It Was A Great Team Effort: Abhinav Manohar
Manohar while speaking to Star Sports after the game explained how he felt watching Miller and Rashid bat together. The right-hander played some extra-ordinary shots which surprised all CSK players and the fans who were watching the game from the stands.
“Miller played a blinder, and so did Rashid. I was sitting in the same place, I didn’t move. It was a great team effort today. Lots of pressure for Rashid today, he bowled well. There is no pressure from the management, I just want to go out there and express myself, so I am enjoying myself,” he said after the match.
Gujarat Titans needed 48 off the last three overs. After a good 17th over bowled by Dwayne Bravo, the 18th over from Chris Jordan went for 25 runs which brought the equation down to 23 off the last two. The Titans needed 13 off the final over when Miller kept a cool head to take his side home.
They are topping the points table after their win over CSK with 10 points from six games losing just one. CSK, on the other hand, are languishing at ninth with just two points. SRH have won four on the trot and moved to number four on the points table. Three teams are on six points as the table is wide open for teams to move up the ladder.
