Sunil Gavaskar, India’s batting veteran, considered the duo of Rahul and Quinton de Kock as one of the opponent’s strongest threats.

KL Rahul and De Kock, seem unable to make an impact in their opening match for Super Giants, and both were Shami’s victims in the early stages of the match.

On Monday, the Gujarat Titans and the Lucknow Super Giants made their Indian Premier League (IPL) debuts, with the latter winning in the end. Both teams had some intriguing players, including all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who was captaining for the first time. KL Rahul, his friend, and renowned India opener stood in front of him, having already demonstrated his leadership talents while playing for Punjab Kings.

Mohammed Shami, who had an outstanding performance in the competition, was the overall winner. The Titans pacer got off to a good start with a wicket off the first ball and finished his four-over quota with 3/25 stats.

Sunil Gavaskar Praises De Kock’s Qualities:

Although Lucknow’s campaign began with a loss, former India captain Sunil Gavaskar chose Quinton de Kock, who he believes will offer a lot to the table.

Gavaskar, speaking on Star Sports before the match, said: “The wonderful aspect about Quinton de Kock is that he also has captaincy experience. He has captained South Africa and is familiar with all of the game’s versions. Because we’re discussing a new team now, he understands what team building entails. He’ll be eager to participate in the team-building process.

Gujarat Titans beat Lucknow Super Giants by five wickets to begin their IPL campaign with a victory. With two balls to spare in a 159-run chase, Rahul Tewatia (40 not out) and Abhinav Manohar (15*) kept their cool and guided Gujarat to victory.
